The rise in erectile dysfunction<\/strong><\/p>\n

Why the surge in erectile dysfunction? Dr. Adel Al-Henayyan, a professor of medicine and head of the urology syndicate at Kuwait University, told reporters that it\u2019s likely due to the increase in chronic diseases, such as heart disease and diabetes, as well as from smoking. In Kuwait, 85% of men with diabetes have erectile dysfunction.<\/p>\n

Options for men with erectile dysfunction<\/strong><\/p>\n

While preventing the development of the chronic disease or managing any chronic disease that has already developed is crucial to help erectile dysfunction, there is something that men can do if they still have erectile dysfunction.<\/p>\n

Viagra, the world\u2019s most popular erectile dysfunction drug, has been found to work for more than 80% of men with erectile dysfunction. Viagra works by increasing blood flow to the penis, usually within 30 to 60 minutes. It comes in 50mg and 100mg pills and it only works when you\u2019re sexually stimulated, so you can take it up to four hours before you have sex.<\/p>\n

Some men shouldn\u2019t take Viagra. For example, men who take nitrates, \u201cpoppers\u201d or guanylate cyclase stimulators can have an unsafe drop in blood pressure if they take Viagra.<\/p>\n

You should also talk to your doctor if you take alpha-blockers, HIV protease inhibitors, oral antifungal medicines, antibiotics, medicines for high blood pressure or other treatments for erectile dysfunction.<\/p>\n
