According to the National Health Service (NHS), in 10 years, the number of prescriptions for sildenafil citrate, the generic name for Viagra, has nearly tripled. In 2006, there were 1,042,431 prescriptions for Viagra, and in 2016 there were 2,958,199 prescriptions for Viagra.<\/p>\n

There are several reasons that more men are getting prescriptions for Viagra and other erectile dysfunction drugs.<\/p>\n

  2. The price of Viagra and other erectile dysfunction drugs has decreased.<\/li>\n
  3. As the stigma surrounding erectile dysfunction drugs decreases, men are feeling more comfortable talking to their doctor about impotence.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The dangers of fake erectile dysfunction drugs<\/b><\/p>\n

    In addition, doctors are warning men about the dangers of buying off-prescription drugs that are fake, some of which can cause serious health problems and even death. This may play a role in more men getting legitimate prescriptions for Viagra and other erectile dysfunction drugs.<\/p>\n

    According to the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency, the equivalent of more than $22 million of unlicensed and counterfeit Viagra was seized in 2016.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
