There\u2019s not a lot of evidence to back up the theory that injecting Botox into your penis will help with ED. Maybe that\u2019s because it\u2019s hard to recruit volunteers to let doctors inject a bacterial toxin into your manhood.<\/p>\n

A very small study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine<\/em> tested Botox on 12 men who were unresponsive to other ED treatments such as Viagra. The men did get increased blood flow and better sexual function after two weeks, but a dozen men isn\u2019t exactly a huge clinical trial. <\/p>\n

Plus, Botox could produce a seriously prolonged erection, which could be not only painful, but also permanently damaging.<\/p>\n

In the meantime<\/strong><\/p>\n

Until Botox is vetted, don\u2019t even think about injecting it\u2014or paying a doctor to do it (assuming you could find someone). Stick with the current ED drugs that are FDA approved: Viagra, Cialis and Levitra. They require a prescription from your doctor, so if someone tries to sell you an ED pill without needing a prescription, run away.<\/p>\n

There are lots of snake-oil salesmen out there willing to take your money for pills that do nothing\u2014or worse: pills that contain unreported drugs. There are plenty of cases of men getting very sick and even dying from these dangerous supplements.<\/p>\n

Even if ED drugs don\u2019t work for you, talk to your doctor about other options. There are penis pumps that work like a vacuum, and simple surgeries that can help. If your ED is caused by stress or anxiety, counseling may help.<\/p>\n

In addition, lifestyle changes may be all it takes to fight erectile dysfunction. Lose weight, quit smoking and\/or drink less alcohol. All are known factors in the fight against impotence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
