The number of men who will battle erectile dysfunction continues to climb, and yet, a new study shows many men don’t get the condition treated.<\/p>\n

About 52% of men will experience erectile dysfunction in their lifetime, with the chances of getting ED skyrocketing to 70% in men age 70 and older, according to the Cleveland Clinic.<\/p>\n

Despite these staggering numbers, just 25% of men who are diagnosed with ED by a doctor fill a prescription for an oral medication like Viagra, according to research from Sothern Illinois University School of Medicine.<\/p>\n

Why men aren’t filling their prescriptions<\/strong><\/p>\n

What gives? The study shows men are talking to their doctor about the condition, and even receive a prescription but aren’t following through with it. Why not?<\/p>\n

One of the reasons may be cost. Erectile dysfunction medications like Viagra hover around $60 per pill<\/a>, and many insurance companies won’t help cover any of it.<\/p>\n
