Director of Research for Express Scripts Tom Delate conducted the study, and said he expected to find an underlying medical condition that caused the sharp increase in Viagra use, but that wasn’t the case.<\/p>\n

While it’s tempting to take Viagra as an enhancer, doctors say it can lead to dangerous side effects.<\/p>\n

In addition to “recreational use” of Viagra, younger men often have performance anxiety and believe that Viagra is necessary to live up to the expectations they’ve built up. Psychologists have noted an increasing number of young men dealing with high stress levels and performance anxiety.<\/p>\n

When Viagra is really needed<\/strong><\/p>\n

Viagra should only be used as a treatment for erectile dysfunction, which is the consistent inability to get or keep an erection. It’s a condition that should be diagnosed by a physician.<\/p>\n

If you believe you have erectile dysfunction, you should speak with your doctor to find a treatment that’s right for you.<\/p>\n
