The FDA says consumers should stay away from a particular brand of coffee, Stiff Bull, because it contains an active ingredient that\u2019s similar to Viagra.<\/p>\n

The FDA issued an advisory<\/a> to consumers after examining the coffee, which arrived through international shipments. The regularity agency found desmethyl carbodenafil, a compound that claims to boost sexual activity in adults, in the coffee.<\/p>\n

The FDA says the compound is unsafe and could have potentially dangerous interactions if people taking other medications consume it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis undeclared ingredient may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs such as nitroglycerin and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels,\u201d the FDA warning claims. \u201cMen with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease often take nitrates.\u201d<\/p>\n

The product<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stiff Bull is marketed by a company out of Maryland, with distributors in nine states, and the ability for consumers to purchase the product online, according to its website.<\/p>\n

The herbal coffee is composed of natural herbs, according to the website, and is \u201cmade for adults who want to have longer lasting more fulfilling sex.\u201d<\/p>\n

FDA warns against this and other herbal ED supplements<\/strong><\/p>\n

The warning is one of many that the FDA has issued when it comes to herbal supplements that claim to treat male impotence or erectile dysfunction.<\/p>\n

Many of the \u201cherbal treatments\u201d contain ingredients that aren\u2019t regulated by the FDA, which is why men dealing with sexual problems should consult a doctor rather than attempting to treat the condition with supplements found online.<\/p>\n
