There are many causes for erectile dysfunction, but a Texas man says his condition was caused by a porn addiction. Gabe Deem, a 26-year-old man who says he was addicted to online porn at the age of 12, is now trying to help other men kick the habit and avoid the embarrassing impotence problem that plagued him after watching too much porn.<\/p>\n

A Moment of Clarity<\/h3>\n

Deem says he knew he had a problem when he and his girlfriend were about to have sex.<\/p>\n

“I was 23 years old, I was with a gorgeous girl who I found extremely attractive, we went for sex and nothing happened. I couldn’t get turned on at all,” Deem tells Christian Post<\/a>. “I freaked out.”<\/p>\n

He turned to Viagra for help, but had no luck. He claims his porn addiction was to blame. Once he kicked the habit, he was able to perform.<\/p>\n

Deem says other men are dealing with similar problems. He launched a website, Reboot Nation, to help educate men about the condition and encourage them to find a solution to their porn addiction.<\/p>\n

Doctors Say Porn is Skewing Our Image of Sex<\/h3>\n

Dr. Abraham Morgentaler, director of Men’s Health Boston and associate clinical professor of urology at Harvard Medical School, says porn addiction is a real a problem. He believes it is skewing the way people view sex.<\/p>\n

“I see young men coming in who are really confused about what normal is because all they know about sex is what they’ve seen on porn,” he explained. “Once upon a time in the Victorian age when women wore long gowns, it was considered to be really sexy when a man saw a turn of an ankle. That was enough for men to go and write sonnets. Now everybody’s got a computer and can see whatever they want.”<\/p>\n
