What sets this pill apart?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The biggest benefit of Avanafil, also know as Stendra, is that it works fast. Clinical trials show the medication taking effect in as little as 15 minutes. That’s faster than Viagra.<\/p>\n

One doctor predicts the fast-acting pill will be a hit.<\/p>\n

\u201cMen\u00a0who have a pattern of sexual activity that\u2019s predictable \u2014 every Saturday night, or something like that, don\u2019t need this. Those whose opportunities for sexual activity are more casual will like it,\u201d said Dr. Ira Sharlip, a urology professor at UC San Francisco and former president of the International Society for Sexual Medicine tells ABC News.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you see that things are heading in that direction, you pop a pill and are ready in 15 minutes, if\u00a0correct.\u201d<\/p>\n

There are already a variety of erectile dysfunction medications on the market, but the additional competition could drive prices of other name brand medications, like Viagra and Cialis, down.<\/p>\n

\u201cCompetition is good. We need to see a reduction in the\u00a0cost to the consumer of these drugs, and this is not exactly another Viagra,\u201d Sharlip said.<\/p>\n

When will Stendra be available?<\/strong><\/p>\n
