Taking too much<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gentil Ramirez, of Gigante, Columbia, told doctors he wanted to impress his wife and took \u201ca lot of Viagra.\u201d He had an erection for several days before going to the doctor\u2019s office.<\/p>\n

His penis was inflamed, fractured and infected with gangrene. Doctors feared the gangrene would spread, so surgery was required.<\/p>\n

The 66-year-old man is now recovering from surgery, but doctor’s say his situation underscores the importance of following proper dosage instructions.<\/p>\n

Take medications as instructed<\/strong><\/p>\n

Viagra, and other medication used to treat erectile dysfunction, are prescribed in various dosages. A licensed physician will decide the amount that\u2019s right for you, ranging from 25 mg to 100 mg.<\/p>\n

Viagra is taken one hour before intercourse and usually takes effect within 30 minutes.<\/p>\n

Should you experience any kind of side effects, including an erection that lasts longer than four hours, you should seek medical care immediately. While it may be an embarrassing problem, serious side effects can occur if action isn’t taken.<\/p>\n
