How he did it<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gibson\u2019s wife started crying while watching an episode of Biggest Loser. She told her husband she was worried\u00a0 his life would be cut short because of this weight.<\/p>\n

Gibson decided to make a change. He started to diet and exercise.<\/p>\n

“I always tell people it’s the three p’s: persistence, passion and perseverance,” Gibson said.<\/p>\n

He says losing weight is all about making gradual changes.<\/p>\n

“I loved fried chicken, so I decided I would eat six pieces instead of eight,” Gibson tells CNN<\/a>. “Then I’d reduce it further to four pieces, and then eventually dropped fried chicken all together. I ate meat more like it was a protein condiment. Now I don’t eat any meat at all. I’m a dedicated vegan.”<\/p>\n

Gibson got some support from Ryan Blanck, CEO of offtrackonpurpose.com. With some positive reinforcement, all done online, Gibson found the power to stick to his healthy routine.<\/p>\n

Obesity wasn\u2019t in his genes<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gibson\u2019s mom was always a size 6 and his dad had a great appetite, but always managed to stay in shape.<\/p>\n

Gibson’s secret: diet and exercise.<\/figcaption><\/figure>“My mom used to joke my dad would get kicked out of buffets, he had such a great appetite and such a great metabolism. He never had to work to be small,” Gibson said.<\/p>\n

The family never talked about eating healthy, so it\u2019s something Gibson had to learn from scratch.<\/p>\n

It took him two years, but he lost 245 pounds. Now, he uses his story to inspire others to lose weight.<\/p>\n

“This weight loss has transformed my life,” Gibson said. “It’s totally possible. You just have to hold yourself accountable.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
