Needless to say the venom itself won\u2019t be hitting the market anytime soon as a way to spice up your sex life, but scientists believe they can extract the chemicals from the venom that cause an erection.\u00a0 They\u2019re hoping to single out the genes that can stimulate an erection and not the other unwanted side effects.<\/p>\n

The spider, sometimes called a banana spider found in Central and South America, is part of an ongoing study at Georgia Health Sciences University.\u00a0 So far the medical team at the school has only tested the venom in rats, but students also analyzed data from several people who had been accidentally bitten by the spider.\u00a0 According to their small study, those patients suddenly enjoyed their sex life more after being bit.<\/p>\n

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, it\u2019s the most venomous spider in the world.\u00a0 Researchers want to see if their continued efforts can one day help men with erectile dysfunction, much like the hot seller Viagra.<\/p>\n
