Here at eDrugstore.com, we\u2019ve been keeping tabs on what appeared to be a potentially exciting new invention announced earlier this year \u2013 Viagra-infused bed sheets.<\/p>\n

Yes, someone in Spain, it was reported, thought up the idea to use nanotechnology to weave the active ingredient in Viagra (sildenafil citrate) into the actual fabric of bed sheets. The idea for the sheets was reportedly unveiled at the 9th British Invention Show at London’s Alexandra Palace in July of 2009.<\/p>\n

The inventor is Pep Torres, who said the sheets will allow anyone who frolics on them to automatically absorb the Viagra into their blood stream. The thought behind the sheets is that a man could feasibly be ready for sex any time he\u2019s in bed, once the Viagra absorbed into his skin.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, there are many problems with the idea of Viagra bed sheets, and perhaps this is the reason that the sheets are apparently not available \u2013 even though a few online sources quoted Torres as saying he was proceeding into production with the sheets.<\/p>\n

eDrugstore.com spoke with a U.S.-licensed doctor regarding the viability of Viagra bed sheets, and he said there are many dangers that could be associated with the product. All of the doctor\u2019s concerns stem from the fact that authentic Viagra is a prescription-only drug in the United States, and it is provided only with close medical supervision elsewhere.<\/p>\n

Authentic Viagra manufactured by Pfizer is provided in 100mg or 50mg tablets. With Viagra bed sheets, the dosing that would be provided would be indiscriminate. It could be too little (ineffective), or too much (potentially harmful). There is no way to regulate dosing with such a product.<\/p>\n

Also, both males and females would be exposed to the drug, not to mention the fact that Little Johnny or Susie would also be exposed to the drug if they climbed into bed with Mommy and Daddy.<\/p>\n

If a pregnant woman is exposed to Viagra, this could be harmful to the fetus. The doctor interviewed for this blog post said the manufacturer of Viagra bed sheets would be exposing themselves to incredible amounts of risk and reprimand.<\/p>\n

The doctor stated that government bodies such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) would never allow Viagra bed sheets to be distributed. Also, Pfizer and its drug wholesalers would never allow a company to gain access to its product for such purposes. Not to say bed sheets with counterfeit Viagra could not be produced in other countries that have less oversight and regulation of the pharmaceutical industry.<\/p>\n

In conclusion, Viagra bed sheets, and Viagra pajamas, and all the rest, sound like interesting concepts. However, the chances these products will ever be legally distributed in the United States, or any other developed country, is very slim.
