For men who need prostate surgery, this is useful information. It suggests that they should weigh all types of surgeries based on other factors if they\u2019re worried about erectile dysfunction.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe expertise and skill of an individual surgeon, comparative performance of a surgical center should drive treatment decisions,\u201d says the study\u2019s lead author, Dr. Julie Nossiter of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.<\/p>\n

According to an article in Deccan Chronicle<\/em>, although erectile dysfunction was slightly lower in men who had robotic surgery compared to other types of surgery on the prostate, it isn\u2019t enough to make a clinical difference.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also important to point out that not all men with prostate cancer will need surgery. In some cases, doctors may recommend that men without symptoms or those without fast-growing tumors take a \u201cwait and see\u201d\u201d approach, making determinations after each regular screening to assess the need for an intervention.<\/p>\n
