A Korean Company Will Market Cialis<\/figcaption><\/figure> Pharmaceutical company Lilly Korea, which operates as a subsidiary of Cialis drug maker Eli Lilly and Company, has just signed a partnership to allow Handok to exclusively market the erectile dysfunction drug Cialis in Korea.<\/p>\n

Renewing a partnership<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cialis one of the best-selling medications in Korea, where sales for the erectile dysfunction drug began in 2003. In addition to being marketed for erectile dysfunction, Cialis is used to treat enlargement of the prostate called, more formally referred to as \u201cbenign prostatic hyperplasia.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not Handok\u2019s first time marketing Cialis. The company had an agreement to co-promote the erectile dysfunction drug in Korea from July 2010 to May 2015.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe company is pleased to market Cialis again,\u201d says Handok CEO and chairman Kim Young-jin, \u201cand the company will do its best to market the drug with the exclusive marketing contract.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lilly Korea CEO Paul Henry Huibers is confident that the continued partnership will be beneficial to everyone, including the doctors prescribing the Cialis and the patients using the erectile dysfunction drugs.<\/p>\n

\u201cCialis provides new treatment options for erectile dysfunction and benign prostatic hyperplasia while improving the quality of life for patients,\u201d says Huibers. \u201cThrough this strategic partnership, the two companies will collaborate in delivering quality information to domestic healthcare professionals, while ensuring smooth supply of pharmaceuticals.\u201d<\/p>\n

Formerly known as Daewoong Lilly Co, the Seoul, South Korea-based Lilly Korea was founded in 1982.<\/p>\n

In 2015, Eli Lilly\u2019s patent for Cialis expired in South Korea and immediately, 60 pharmaceutical companies released more than 150 generic version of the erectile dysfunction drug.<\/p>\n
