At the age of 40, about 40% of men are affected, while 70% of men at the age of 70 battle ED, according to studies<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There are many treatments for erectile dysfunction. Men can use a penis pump, suppositories, injections, implants, or oral medications. Since oral medications are easy to take and the least invasive option, many men opt for an oral medication.<\/p>\n

Here’s a look at the four medications that are used to treat ED, and what men should know about each drug:<\/p>\n

Stendra<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stendra is taken about 15 minutes before having sex, and can’t be used more than once a day. Common side effects include: headache, flushing, low blood pressure, vision problems and hearing difficulties.<\/p>\n

Viagra<\/strong><\/p>\n

Perhaps the most common ED medication, Viagra is taken about an hour before sex and has the following side effects: headache, flushing, upset stomach, and vision changes.<\/p>\n

Cialis<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cialis offers two doses, one that’s taken on-demand and another that’s taken daily. Men like the daily option because it allows for more spontaneity in their sex life. Side effects include: headache, nausea, flushing, upset stomach and vision changes.<\/p>\n

Testosterone<\/strong><\/p>\n

Testosterone levels often drop in men as they age, which can cause problems getting and maintaining an erection. Doctors can prescribe testosterone to balance levels, however, there are side effects, which include: acne, breast and prostate growth, moodiness, sleep apnea and fluid retention.<\/p>\n

Testosterone comes in many forms, some of which are generic oral medications. A doctor decides which form is best for a patient.<\/p>\n
