While MS is not a disease that can be stopped, sufferers can have vastly improved lives by using effective therapies to treat symptoms.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Painful muscle stiffness is a bane of Multiple Sclerosis patients everywhere. In fact, over 90% of people with MS experience painful muscle stiffness. It causes considerable distress, often seriously affecting their daily lives, nearly eliminating mobility and preventing quality sleep.<\/p>\n

And current treatments don\u2019t even resolve the symptoms! Not to mention some of these treatments are limited by their considerable toxicity. Not surprisingly, MS sufferers have begun to look elsewhere. And a growing number of them — the UK estimates between 1% and 4% — have tried out alternative therapies.<\/p>\n

The Cannabis Cure (Actually Just A Therapy)<\/strong><\/p>\n

One therapy some patients have tried is cannabis. It\u2019s important to realize, cannabis definitely doesn\u2019t<\/a> slow down MS symptoms or improve the disease\u2019s overall state.<\/p>\n

But it does appear to help with muscle stiffness and alleviate pain. In this recent study<\/a>, THC extract was evaluated as a possible treatment. It was a double blind, placebo controlled study that confirmed some interesting results.<\/p>\n

Surprisingly, the effects of cannabis extracts on MS patients are encouraging.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Those patients given THC had twice as much relief from muscle pain than those given placebos. The THC was also superior when it came to improving sleep quality. The study was twelve weeks long, and the only downside that appeared was that cannabis users reported more side effects, but mostly during the first two weeks of treatment and none of the side effects was severe.<\/p>\n
