They are&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.texasheart.org\/heart-health\/heart-information-center\/topics\/nitrates\/#:~:text=Nitrates%20are%20used%20to%20treat,congestive%20heart%20failure%20(CHF).\">powerful vasodilators<\/a>, which means they expand your blood vessels to increase the flow of blood through your body, allowing more oxygen-rich blood to reach your heart muscles. Nitrates also relax the veins to ease the workload on the heart. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/clinicaltrials.gov\/ct2\/show\/NCT04116060\">Recent research<\/a>&nbsp;has also shown the benefit of nitrate medications for other types of cardiovascular disease, including injuries and hypertension (high blood pressure). For this reason, nitrates are increasingly being prescribed to improve vascular function in older adults \u2014 a good step for managing vascular health \u2014 but an added risk for those with ED.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Do Nitrates Interact with ED Meds?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ED medications \u2014\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/erectile-dysfunction\/buy-viagra\/\" title=\"\">Viagra<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/erectile-dysfunction\/cialis\/\" title=\"\">Cialis<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/erectile-dysfunction\/vardenafil\/\" title=\"\">Levitra<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/erectile-dysfunction\/stendra\/\" title=\"\">Stendra<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.edrugstore.com\/erectile-dysfunction\/vardenafilodt\/\" title=\"\">Staxyn<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 belong to a class of drugs called PDE5 inhibitors.
