The British newspaper The Sun<\/a> recently reported on a woman named Kerry Horan who was prescribed Viagra for this very reason. Kerry, 34, was trying to get pregnant with her husband for several years and had experienced three rounds of in vitro fertilization (IVF) with no result. In 2005, she had a miscarriage.<\/p>\n Finally, her doctor decided to try Viagra. He told her that the lining of her womb was too thin for an embryo to implant successfully and that Viagra could provide enough extra blood flow to fix this problem. Needless to say, Kerry was surprised that a doctor would prescribe Viagra to a woman.<\/p>\n However, once Kerry had been on Viagra for nine days, the doctor attempted another IVF, this time with success. Nine months later, Kerry’s \u201cViagra baby,\u201d Grace, was born. While Viagra may not be a miracle fertility drug, this report at least shows that it can be effective in women whose infertility is the result of inadequate blood flow in the wall tissues of the womb. This could be a great encouragement to women around the world who have had trouble getting pregnant, as well as to their doctors.<\/p>\n The key will be to see if Kerry’s success can be repeated in other women. And of course, everyone is hoping that this will be the case. As more and more doctors decide to try this method, chances are that it will become much more common in the years to follow.<\/p>\n Please note that the doctors involved stressed the fact that Viagra<\/a> must not be taken for any other purpose than as prescribed for erectile dysfunction<\/a> \u2013 unless the patient is under the direct, close supervision of their doctor.
